What is the goal of the Center for Enlightenment Studies?

Our main goal is to assist lightworkers in raising the vibration of the world.  Beyond that, we further define our purpose with the following:
1)  Provide healing sessions in a clean and peaceful environment, facilitating one’s path to health and wholeness.

2)  Provide classes, instruction, attunements, and initiations that will allow people to take their healing process and enlightenment into their own hands.

3)  Provide additional tools to facilitate healing and wholeness.

4)  Provide resources to further one’s knowledge on healing and enlightenment.

What is energetic medicine?

This is a concept that is explored frequently by individuals involved in metaphysical work as well as those in the field of quantum physics.  The principle lies in the fact that beyond our body, beyond our organs, and even beyond our cells- we consist of vibration and energy- quarks, as referred to in quantum physics.  Instead of treating dis-ease at the topical level (traditional western medicine), energy medicine targets the very root of who we are- vibration and energy.  When energetic medicine (typically eastern in its origin or from indigenous populations) and western medicine (typically found in Europe, Australia, and U.S.) are used in combination, healing takes place at a much more rapid rate, and tends to result in more complete healing.

What is a lightworker?

This is a person who views the world as a place that has been created for the purpose of humanity's progression.  Lightworkers assist individuals with their progress in a variety of ways, some of which include life coaching, guidance, balance and healing.  The lightworker’s creed is to make space in the world for Spirit, as well as space for recognizing our own personal divinity.

What kinds of ailments can a healing session cure?

We make no claims to cure anyone.  Our work follows the belief that the body (including the physical body, the mental self, the emotional self, and the spiritual self) heals itself.  Going through a healing session allows one to receive energy that will clear and then instruct the body on an energetic and vibrational level as to how to heal itself.  Additionally, in shamanic practice we often delve into the cause of the ailment at a cognitive, yet spiritual level so that growth can be fostered.

What should I expect following a healing session?

Most people feel a sense of balance and general wellbeing.  Often, people will report fatigue for a couple of days following a session, which is largely due to the fact that the body is releasing toxins and realigning itself.  At times individuals will report emotional and mood swings.  Going through an “emotional cleanse” can be difficult, but is typically very cathartic since much of a dis-ease is generally rooted in our emotions and mental habits.

This said though, there are many people who leave with a new sense of direction or purpose.  Often, these individuals are in a place of "allowing" and are open to general newness in their lives.

Having a healing session means I don’t have to spend time with medical doctors anymore, right?

False.  We do not claim to be a replacement or substitute therapy.  Healing sessions can be considered complimentary medicine because it does just that- compliments other healing tools, such as competent and qualified medical personnel.  That said, we have had experience after experience of individuals coming in and working with us and finding relief from issues that western medicine could not ameliorate.  We encourage all individuals to listen to the wisdom of their body and find their own path.

What is Munay-Ki?

Munay-Ki is an organized set of initiations and transmissions that have been provided via the shamanic
descendents of the Q’ero and Inca.  The Munay-Ki rites lead one squarely through the path of enlightenment and
conscious expansion, as well as rooting them firmly to the time after the great change in 2012.  The rites urge one
on to do their deep work- to walk their unique path and see oneself as God, in masquerade.

Shamanism, Reiki, and other systems are parts of a religious tradition, right?

These systems or approaches are not tied into any religion.  There is no particular dogma or doctrine surrounding these, other than the belief that we are much more than "just" our bodies.  Energy medicine and enlightenment practices are utilized everyday by Buddhists, Christians, Sikhs, Jews,  Muslims, Taoists, Hindus, and others, as well as a wide range of people who may have non-religious and non-traditional views of “God”.  You are not required to be affiliated religiously with any group or person in order to benefit from working in Spirit.

Can anyone learn to use reiki and other shamanic practices?

Yes.  Absolutely anyone can learn to use these.  There are no gender, weight, height, culture, race, ability, or other requirements.  Learning how to channel or access healing frequencies typically instills an individual with personal empowerment.  To take your health and well-being into your own hands can be, and usually is, a real life changing experience.

What is the difference between a Reiki Master and a Reiki Practitioner?

There is typically only one difference.  A Reiki Master or a Reiki Master/Teacher is someone who can teach about and attune others to reiki.  That said, a Reiki Master may have additional reiki symbols that a practitioner doesn’t.  However, this should not limit an individual to only seeking out sessions with masters; there are a multitude of reiki practitioners who have opted not to go on to mastership because they have no desire to teach.  These practitioners, though not masters in the traditional sense, are often masters at channeling reiki and allowing the body to do what it needs to in order to heal.

Unfortunately, you can at times find "Reiki Masters" out there who are quite ineffective in channeling reiki, yet find Reiki I & II Practitioners who are quite dynamic and powerful in what they do.  It is more important to be comfortable with your reiki practitioner, than the practitioner's "level".

Does it really cost $10,000 in order to be trained and attuned in reiki?

Some lineages and organizations do charge that much.  However, we do not charge that.  We believe that reiki is from Spirit and that Spirit would want everyone to have reiki, not just the elite of a particular society or culture.

What is a reiki lineage, and is it really all that important?

A reiki lineage in some ways is important, and in other ways it is not.  A reiki practitioner is simply that, a practitioner- regardless of their lineage.  However, that said, unfortunately there are "practitioners" out there with "dead hands".  These are probably people who were attuned to or instructed in reiki inappropriately, and are sensing their own personal vibratory energy instead of channeling reiki.  These individuals may even be channeling a different frequency of energy work.  Regardless of who you take a class from or go into a session with, if Usui Reiki is what you want, then the teacher or practitioner should be able to trace their lineage all the way back to Dr. Usui in Japan.

The Center for Enlightenment Studies' Lineage is as follows:
Mikayo Usui
Chujiro Hayashi
Hawayo Takata
Virginia Samdahl
Larry Rosencrans
*
Jonathan & Stephanie Webb

(We originally began our training under another individual and due to a differeing of opinion and understanding of Reiki we completed our Usui Reiki Training under Larry Rosencrans.  Additionally, we have received attunements and instruction within Usui Reiki and other Reiki systems under other Masters as well.)

What are the reiki symbols I keep hearing about?

There are symbols used in reiki and other systems that represent different energies that are used to rebalance the body and its energy.  For example, Christians use the cross, Buddhists use a lotus, and even in the American fast food industry we have the “golden arches”, and from the 60’s we have the “peace” sign.  Just as all of these symbols have a particular energy attached to them, so do the symbols for reiki and other energetic systems.

Symbols have power because generally, a large group of people over time have attached energy to it (think about the flag of your nation).  Reiki symbols have had a massive group of individuals attaching energy to them- energy regarding an individual's healing and highest potential.

What is a cleanse?

A cleanse is a cleaning of the body on all levels.  Particularly after a healing session or an attunement/initiation the body will go through a detoxification process in order to make room for health and wholeness.  This may exhibit as fatigue, runny nose, etc. (physical cleanse); crying, unexplained laughter, etc. (emotional cleanse); spaced out, concentration and attention issues, memory, etc. (mental cleanse); or life path, religious and spiritual issues, etc. (spiritual cleanse).  A cleanse can sometime be extremely intense, and at other times extremely light.  Contact with a healing practitioner should always be made if going through an extremely overwhelming cleanse.

Are there other resources out there on reiki and energetic and complimentary medicine?

Yes, please go to our Resources page to find a listing of some sites that may help you along your path.

How can something like rocks help with healing and balance?

Stones, crystals and rocks are simply energy in a different form.  These tools come directly from the earth and so they hold a particular frequency that the earth intends, as well as what Spirit intended with the earth creation.  Different stones and crystals hold different healing attributes and frequencies, so those who use them should make sure that they are obtaining the right stone for the ailment they have.

What is color therapy?

Color therapy is the use of color as it corresponds to our chakras (energy centers of our bodies) and aura (the extension of ourselves that in places can be measured as bioelectric field).  When our chakras and aura are out of balance, or simply not where we want them to be, color can be used to gently bring them back into alignment and health.

What are essential oils used for?

Not only is aromatherapy beneficial for relaxation and stress reduction, but high grade essential oils can be used in healing.  Essential oils can at times be ingested, applied topically, or diffused.  Essential oils come from living things, and thus carry the plants' original life force or energetic vibration with them.

It should also be noted, plant extracts have been used for thousands of years in healing throughout the world, and are still used today in western medicine in creating new medicines.

What is sound healing or sound therapy?

This energetic therapy makes use of sound as a vibrational healer.  When an individual is ill, their body at its most minute level (pure energy) is “out of tune” with its whole or balanced state.  Using crystal bowls, toning and the such allows a body’s energy to retrain itself back to its appropriate vibrational frequency.

Interestingly enough, cells emit sound.  Western medicine is now finding that when a particular group of cell sounds are at an incorrect frequency, it denotes disease.  Researchers are now beginning to experiment with not only detecting disease through sound detection, but with attacking disease through sound emissions such as tuning forks and quartz crystal bowls.
